Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby written by F Scott. Fitzgerald.

The Great Gatsby - one of my all time favourite novels. Having watched the 1949 version and read the book several times now, I had always wondered whether there would be a modern reenactment of the movie. Recently my wish had came true and off I rushed to watch Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby as soon as it hit the cinemas.

Everything about the movie was just perfect. The characters were just as I had imagined them to be (Jay Gatsby's even better, considering Leonardo DiCaprio played the role). The ambience of the Jazz Age was very well portrayed and most importantly the outfits for the characters were simply impeccable.

Miuccia Prada collaborated on over 40 costume designs for the film's lavish party scenes. Raiding the Prada and Miu Miu archives, classic Prada designs were selected to perfectly fit the Roaring Twenties brief, and the result is a fashion fairytale come to life.

Leonardo DiCaprio's suits were absolutely exquisite. The styles, fitting and colours were just simply on point!

The settings reflected the contrasts between the lifestyles of the characters and the beautiful sceneries depicted the novel excellently. The music was a combination of contemporary and traditional although Jay-Z in this was quite unexpected it nonetheless fitted in perfectly for a modern twist.

Overall, the movie was a great success. It depicts Fitzgerald's novel beautifully and it isn't necessary that one must have read the novel beforehand to understand the movie.

Sonam Kapoor walks the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 2013. Representing Bollywood in style!

Ever since her debut in 2007, I have admired Sonam Kapoors extraordinary sense of style. She somehow manages to pull off a very classy, simple and elegant look whilst being very unique and eye catching. Recently, in the Cannes Film Festival of 2013, she managed to bring about a simple and traditional yet versatile look, to the red carpet.

The nose ring adds a traditional touch to the overall look. It is definitely very eye catching and something very versatile to bring to the red carpet!
The gown style overall worn ontop of the sari changes the whole outlook of the sari, a traditional outfit with a more contemporary style.
Her make-up here is kept bold and eye catching. The dark exaggerated eyeliner and dark plum-ish lipstick compliment the white outfit very well. Very daring, yet she managed to pull it off effortlessly. Absolutely love it!!

Bonjour Mesdames!

Well hello there and welcome to the beginning of my blog journey...

Brief Introduction ~

My name (as quite obvious) is Saleha, I am a 20 year old British-Bengali, currently reading Law at University. I reside in the UK and have been bought up in a small town named Solihull, in the West Midlands. I am a Lawyer in the making as I like to call it, as well as my Daddy's right hand woman in his group of businesses. The simple reason I have created this blog, is to share my wider passions that lie outside of education and business (well surprise surprise!) such as fashion, food, lifestyle and beauty.
